An original oil painting by Swedish artist Edvin Ollers (1888-1959). Ollers’ paintings are held in major Scandinavian institutions including the Moderna Museet and Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.
This painting beautifully captures a rugged mountainous scene next to water. It is colourful yet soft and subdued. The expressive brushstrokes bring wonderful texture and pairs nicely with the wooden frame and fabric mount board.
The size lends itself well for hanging above a sideboard, bed or sofa.
It is in a relatively good condition but does show signs of its age in minor surface cracks on the painting and a few minor chips and scuffs to the frame.
