About

talie's trove was set up in 2024 by myself, Natalie. Here I am with Lucie and Rosie, two shy but cute alpacas in the Lake District. I wish this is where I lived but sadly this was just a little break away up north!

Based in the less hilly county of Buckinghamshire in England, I'm in my element at antique markets and shops. Some may find it overwhelming but I love the variations of all the objects and find it thrilling to hunt for the gems. Leaving the house at 5am for a market, less so, but that's all part of it!

There's something about adding in older items to an interior that makes a space feel more like a home. It feels lived in, and that's what makes a space inviting. In fact many interior designers advocate for mixing in the old with the new.

I'm quite a sentimental person and I love thinking about the journeys that these items go on. Whether it's the painting from France where someone in the 1920's was trying to pursue their passion, or the craftsmanship of a Swedish blacksmith, they all supported a dream. Those items sadly live on longer than their makers, but they go on to support more dreams and more stories. Maybe the French painter in the 1920's didn't think their art was good enough, but look now, its being traded from person to person, supporting others' livelihoods and being admired for decades, to then reside in your own home where it again is part of another life. It's fascinating to me and I love the connections to other fellow human beings and to the past, present and future.

Thanks for reading and I really hope you find something you love, or are inspired to go out and hunt for something second hand yourself.

Shipping

I aim to ship orders within 3 business days, but on rare occasions it could take up to 5.

I mostly ship items in reused boxes because this is better for the environment and also because the items I sell are always different sizes to one another. I try to use as much recyclable packaging as I can so that it is easier for you, but sadly this is mostly new. If you do receive bubble wrap or other similar materials, please know it is not new and I have bags full of them from packages neighbours or I receive, and reusing is always the best method. Sustainability is so important to me and its one of the reasons why I am passionate about vintage and antiques, so this aspect is always in mind.

If you are living overseas then please do reach out for a shipping quote. I regularly ship items to the US.
